Collegiate Summer Update: The Gospel is Advancing!
Our Collegiate Mission Director, Joey Misiaszek, teaching students.
This summer, 24 students from seven universities gathered in Northern Vermont for Ekklesia, our 10-day Northeast Navigators summer training program. Through discipleship, community, and intentional Gospel conversations, God is transforming lives and sending students back to their campuses as witnesses for Christ.
Already, seven students have taken significant steps toward personal healing, including pursuing counseling, reconciling with family members, and extending forgiveness. Since Ekklesia ended, several students have also seen friends come to faith through their prayers, love, and boldness in sharing Jesus.
One Student’s Story
Joanna* arrived unsure whether she wanted Jesus in her life. She carried deep shame and was hesitant even to identify as a Christian. But through the acceptance and grace she experienced from Ekklesia staff and students, Joanna found a place where she could bring her questions, tears, and struggles without judgment.
There, she recognized her need for God, opened herself to the Holy Spirit, and surrendered her life to Jesus.
Later, Joanna shared her testimony with the Ekklesia community, reminding everyone that there are people like her in each of our circles of influence who desperately need to hear the Gospel.
What began as shame became joy and a new boldness to share Jesus with others.
